Description
Marsala is in the westernmost part of Sicily. It overlooks the sea, Favignana and the Egadi Islands and stands on the ruins of the ancient Punic city of Lilibeo.
The city is full of incredible historical and cultural attractions. It is famous for the landing of the thousand (led by Garibaldi in 1860) and for producing fine wine. The city is rich in history and has an open-air museum.
When you walk through the alleys, you feel the influence and charm of Africa. The name of the city is derived from the Saracens: “El Marsa Allah” which means “the port of God”.
This magnificent city is the backdrop for our experience.
