Indeed, how can you best enjoy beautiful days with children, if not outdoors, in the countryside? And maybe at one of the many adventure farms in our country?
Today, thanks to the concentrated life in the city, a child comes into less and less contact with those who produce what is on the table. And often even the classic animals that once lived in the courtyards can only be seen on TV.
For this reason, adventure farms were born where children can spend a day in the country. They learn something about the life of animals, the origin of the products we consume, they encourage their critical spirit and their curiosity.
In this way, they also learn to respect nature and the environment as well as a healthier lifestyle.

It is a chance for children, and the adults who accompany them, to fully enjoy the spectacular nature of Pietralunga.
This tour is dedicated to the sense of smell. Nature has its smells that are different from those of the city. Discovering nature means immersing yourself into its colours, smells and aromas.
Let’s have an idea about the different experiences:
The valley of ancient crafts
A journey into the past: you start as a pilgrim visiting the former monastery of San Salvatore, then stroll through the cultivated fields and experience at the end the work of the old craftsmen:
– in the farm / miller’s shop (bread & chocolate)
– or in the hand workshop (from mud to ceramics)
The valley of silence: the animal’s garden
A short walk between the animal shelters of the different types of farm animals (marked with special illustrative posters):
– threshing area, pond and hen house (geese, ducks, chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl);
– the oak grove and the pigsty (pig)
– the meadow, the sheepfold (sheep) and the old quarry (goats)
with a discreet tour that reveals the secrets of each one of them step by step.
The experience ends in the paddock and in the stable: (donkeys and horses), where you can take part in fun and unusual jobs: take hay and straw out of the barn, give water, clean the belts and enter the fantastic world of the horse: grooming, saddling to assist the farrier with shoeing.
The valley of colours: leaf peeping in the magic garden
The experience takes place in the small natural oasis and in the outdoor ecology laboratory on the farm.
After you have passed a simple wooden gate, you reach the big tree, an old oak. Here you will discover the discipline of leaf peeping (observing nature from the keyhole) and through stories, myths and legends you will get to know also the most hidden secrets of the nature of the Apennines.
We follow three different ring routes:
– the ring rows of the elves
– the circle of fairies
– the ring of the dwarves
