Description
Amaroni: city of honey
Honey in Calabria: in the heart of Calabria, in the province of Catanzaro, is a small, very welcoming village called Amaroni.
This Calabrian town is located 13 km from the Ionian coast and 35 km from the Tyrrhenian sea, and combines the blue of the Ionian sea with the green of the Sila.
Among streams and springs, valleys and wooden piers, the town of Amaroni offers a beautiful natural landscape. The historic center expresses all its charm through small streets and noble palaces.
The locals are hospitable, cheerful and dedicated to work. They have been passing on their great tradition of honey making from generation to generation.
The Greeks already considered honey the “food of the gods” and Pythagoras called honey the “elixir of long life”. And in these territories rich in varied vegetation, bees, as industrious as ever, have allowed Amaroni to become the city of honey!
