Description
NAPLES AND THE TYPICAL CUCCUMA
Naples is a splendid and enigmatic city, full of history and life.
It surprises with its beauty, its art and contrasts. You feel its unique vibes in every alley and district.
The city is full of scents, splendid panoramas, melodies, music and traditions.
Without a doubt, one of the most important traditions is the art of preparing coffee with the typical Neapolitan coffee maker: the cuccuma (sometimes also called cuccumella).
Preparing coffee with the Neapolitan cuccuma means retracing a homemade ritual celebrated by many illustrious Neapolitans.
The cuccuma is a special coffee maker that produces a bodied coffee with a full taste. Invented in Naples in 1691, it was a huge success in Italy and the only way to prepare coffee until the 1930s, when the mocha was patented.
OUR ANYWAYS.EXPERIENCE: ITALIAN COFFEE AND NEAPOLITAN CUCCUMA
Coffee, as we know, is a ritual. And preparing it is a real art! The gastronomist Pietro Corrado paid tribute to the cuccuma and the preparation of coffee, describing it as the drink of hospitality, friendship and good luck.
This experience dedicated to the Italian gastronomic tradition focuses on the sense of taste, i.e. the taste of coffee, one of the symbols of Italianness in the world.
This tour takes place in the heart of true Naples, in one of the typical and charming streets of the city.
On the roadside in the lively historic center you will taste an excellent Neapolitan coffee and immerse yourself in its history. The Neapolitan spirit will win you over while you prepare coffee and listen to anecdotes related to Neapolitan espresso.
The “Italian Coffee and Neapolitan Cuccuma” tour remains true to tradition: the coffee is prepared using a cuccuma and is served along with another milestone of the Neapolitan heritage, the sfogliatella (pastry).
If you are in Naples, don’t miss this unique opportunity.
A coffee is never just a coffee!
