Grottole is located near Matera, the capital. The name Grottole is derived from the Latin word “criptula” and indicates the ancient origins of this place, in small caves in prehistoric times.
These caves still exist today and have been converted into workshops for the manufacture of clay pots that characterize local artisanal production.
Inhabited since prehistoric times, the village of Grottole was also an important Norman rule.

You will discover the production of an organic wine and how much effort is behind it.
The experience begins in the vineyard. Here Silvio shows you the processes of agriculture and wine cultivation. The tour then continues in the “Rione L’irutt” cellar.
In this traditional and characteristic cave cellar you will get to know the methods and times of wine processing.
The experience ends with a wine tasting accompanied by excellent local delicacies.
