This technique of chromatic decoration on paper is about placing a sheet on the surface of a specially prepared liquid that imitates a marble surface, reproducing its color spots.
Marbling finds its origins in the ancient Bukhara (current Uzbekistan) and then spread along the Silk Road through Iran, India and the Arab countries, reaching the countries of the Ottomans.
