Also during this workshop, the sense of touch is the protagonist. This particular experience is dedicated to the discovery of the technique of etching and will take place in a laboratory in the historic center of Acqui Terme.
The town of Acqui Terme is full of Roman aqueducts and villas, monasteries and abbeys. Each hill is enriched with castles or towers. Its breathtaking landscape was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014.
This is where the Acquaforte workshop will take place, while tasting typical products of this region. You will have the opportunity, accompanied by expert hands, to create a copper matrix. You will choose a design and proceed until you get to printing it on a small copper plate.
You will perform all phases of this traditional process:
- the incision of the copper plate with a metal tip after having prepared it with hot-spread wax
- the clamp to create the furrows of the tracks you have drawn and engraved in which the ink will be deposit
- bevelling of the edges
- cleaning
- buffer inking
- the printed form with the star-shaped calcographic press on engraving paper
You will end the experience by taking home with you the matrix you have made and the printing.
