The Sicilian Pupi theater is an immersive experience that travels back in time, bringing to the stage stories of courage, honor, and love that have shaped Sicilian identity.
ANYWAYS EXPERIENCE: WORKSHOP PUPI SICILIANI
In 2001, UNESCO recognized the Opera dei Pupi as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
This international recognition highlights the importance of preserving and promoting this traditional art form, which represents a true cultural treasure.
The Sicilian Pupi are not just puppets. Each Pupo is a unique work of art, made with local materials and traditional craftsmanship techniques, reflecting the pride and creativity of Sicily.
The Pupi embody the history, culture, and traditions of Sicily, and during this workshop, you can create your own Pupo with the support of Daniel, an expert craftsman. You’ll discover the ancient techniques still used today for both making and moving the Pupi.
The workshop is accompanied by a tasting of typical local products. You can choose between 2 different types of workshops:
- Workshop “Create Your Own Pupo” Option 1 (Pupo with rubber armor) 77;- €
- Workshop “Create Your Own Pupo” Option 2 (Pupo with metal armor) 97;- €
Up to two people can participate in creating a single Pupo (price is for one Pupo).
Each participant can take home the Pupo they created.
