Description

This workshop dedicated to the sense of touch takes place in Laterza, province of Taranto, a few kilometers from Matera.

The village has always been known for its typical bread made according to ancient tradition, for grilled meat from the “Fornello” and for majolica.

During this experience, you will learn more about one of the three characteristics that represents this city, and feel the emotion of decorating Laterza pottery, called majolica.

Here, you will test your senses and your abilities, starting with a “biscotto”, an untreated dry clay object. Consider it, after glazing, as your “white page”. Choose colours and brushes and experience, accompanied by skilled hands, a part of the art of Laterza. Create your own artwork, brushstroke by brushstroke.

Why buying a souvenir when you can make it with your own hands and at the same time share with local people their culture, art and passion?

Discover Laterza, experience it firsthand with its craftsmen!

You can pick up your artwork as souvenir of your time in Laterza, after the firing process. A small tasting of typical products from Apulia completes the offer.
